Year One

So we're a little late in getting the blog up and running but here are the top stories from our first year on the farm...

1. Mia & Chris Bought the Farm

Despite our cheesy real estate agent, the taped up windows, and weird legal issues, Chris convinced Mia that this was THE farm.

Our neighbor Jason captured the day we got keys to the farm.

2. Sean and Hilary Move in

United by our time together at Cloud Mountain Farm, a love of growing, and enjoying life, Sean and Hilary move onto the farm and form "Small Acres"...unofficially. 

3. First of many farm work parties - clean out the barn!

Three dump runs later and we still haven't touched some of the shelves of junk in the barn, but that's okay. The Magic Barn continues to give and give.

4. First Annual Labor Day Farm Hootenanny - Where Friends Meet Friends

Over 100 people attended, many camped for the weekend, music happened, and much beer was consumed.

5. First Major Construction Project - Sauna

We started construction of the sauna at the worst possible time of year, but are now thankful to have such a luxurious space on the farm.

6. Chickens!

We added 25 laying hens to the farm, housed in a coop built of 100% salvaged materials from onsite

7. Goats!

Our herd started with three goats: Mama, Zephyr, and Onyx

8. Small Acres is Born!
